Direct Donation Drive - 2020


Why are we doing a Direct Donation Campaign?

Historically, we have done full-scale fundraising initiatives like the Fun Run. During this time of remote learning, we need to adjust our approach to fundraising (and, well, pretty much everything right now). Furthermore, the PTSA board has opted to not use a third-party fundraising company so we can ensure 100% of your money goes directly to the Bell community!

Your donation makes the difference!

By contributing to the Direct Donation Campaign, you invest directly in your child. The PTSA supports programs which are above and beyond the district-provided resources and curriculum. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, 100% of your direct donation is tax deductible. And while this year looks very different, there is still a tremendous amount of work Bell PTSA is doing to (1) advocate for our students and teachers, (2) provide enrichment learning opportunities, (3) support our Bell families in-need, and (4) connect our community during this unique time. Below are just a few examples of the programs we are funding this year:

  • Artist in Residence instruction and supplies – Mrs. Lustgarten (virtual lessons)
  • Teacher grants – The PTSA has more than doubled the budget for grants this year 
  • PE, Library, and Music Grants - The PTSA recently paid $2,500 for more library books (curbside checkout!)
  • Pantry Packs – Bell PTSA supplements the pantry pack program for Bell families-in-need

And once we get back to school, we will continue to fund the following: field trips for all grades, assemblies, emergency/disaster preparation supplies, teacher professional development, parent events and speakers, classroom supplies, community events (e.g., Back-To-School Picnic, Harvest Party, STEM night, School Dance, etc.) and so much more!

How much should I donate?

Bell PTSA spends approx. $30K - $40K per year to fund everything outlined above (when looking at the last five years). And while this year will likely be less (and we have adjusted our budget accordingly), there are still a number of things we are funding via remote learning (as outlined above). Our goal is to fundraise $10K via this direct donation drive. If 100 of our Bell families donated $100 each, that would get us to $10K! Having said this, we know this is not reasonable for all families, so please donate what you’re able to - every dollar helps! Truly!

How do I donate?

Ways to Donate
Credit Card Donate Online Now! A receipt for your donation will be emailed to you. You may use this receipt for tax purposes.
Check/ Cash Use this Form to make a check or cash donation to the AG Bell PTSA. We ask that you place the form and payment in an envelope and return to your child's teacher or to the main office. To obtain a receipt for your donation paid through check/cash, please contact treasurer@agbellptsa.org.
