SAVE THE DATE and New Location for the Luncheon. The Foundation is holding its annual "A Legacy for Learning" luncheon on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. This year newly remodeled Lake Washington High School is graciously hosting the event. Community members, businesses, teachers, principals, parents, and other education supporters will come together for this celebration to support student learning. Volunteers make this event happen--would you like to volunteer? We need table captains; creative help with publicity, communications, programs, decorations, and theme; helpers for set-up, clean-up, and registration; coordinators for student volunteers; recruiters for luncheon sponsors, and help with many other tasks (some of which can be completed at home). Be a part of a great community event that brings Kirkland, Redmond, and Sammamish together to benefit the nearly 25,000 students in the District. Email luncheon@lwsf.org to volunteer.

Washington State PTA Wants Your Ideas
Washington State PTA's (WSPTA) mission is to help all kids in our state. While education is one piece of that puzzle, it goes well beyond that to include health, nutrition, safety and making certain that kids have a voice at every table. How we achieve that is entirely up to you . Some very big success stories are directly attributable to measures put forward by members of the WSPTA including the recent Supreme Court decision that Olympia needs to better fund education for our kids.   Howdy, Partner! We are rounding up the greatest talent at A.G. Bell Elementary for our big show on the first of June. Singing, Dancing, Magic, Drama, Mime, Gymnastics, Poetry, Instruments, Comedy, Juggling, Yo-Yo Tricks We are holding auditions on Monday May 14 (Kindergarden to 3rd Grade) and Tuesday May 15 (4th Grade to 6th Grade) in the Music Room. Thank you to our representatives for putting our kids first!
Our represenatives in Olympia worked from 9 in the morning on Tuesday past 7 the next day to get past a difficult but critical budget session. We suspect there blood was flowing with Starbucks lattes by the time it was done. A huge thank you to everyone there for working through the issues and presenting a budget that kept our critical programs for the next generation of Washingtonians in place. THANK YOU from Pantry Packs!
A HUGE Thank You to our Bell  families who donated groceries at the PTSA sponsored Sock Hop and at the food drive at the Totem Lake QFC on Saturday, March 24.   Another BIG Thank You to the f amilies who volunteered their time at QFC collecting food. As a result, we were able to fill two trucks full of much needed groceries for Pantry Packs.
